The project surrounds an existing villa and consists of a new detached house. The new building is organized around a common yard that is shared, among other things, with the mother house.
All the housing units have an entrance to the yard so that it becomes a natural social meeting point. The site was characterized by tall pine trees.. The bulk of the project is designed as masonry with a natural patina to harmonize with the area and the nature. The home is located on a small slope where private outdoor areas have been designed. The house gets an all-white look. Gathered around the yard, the various new and existing elements go up into a higher unit where the individual buildings nevertheless retain their distinctive character.
The choice fell on the Bærum architect Katrina Urbanik, who has already made a mark on Nesøya with her modern functional houses. - We are very satisfied with the result. You can say that the home was designed with a good neighborhood in mind. The location ensures buyers a fantastic sea view, without the home being a nuisance to us or our neighbours, says Sejersted Bødtker.
