Villa Vendla
Summary
The home was designed on a plot of beach-land with a fantastic view of the Oslo fjord. The home was one of the first in Norway with modern design features, a flat roof and white facades. In recent times, many Norwegian architects have copied our style and today there are many houses in that style around Norway.

This home is a clear reflection of societal changes; modern people's wants and needs, produce new and creative solutions that demonstrate technical progress in the design and construction of detached houses. The home accommodates the builder's clear and definite perceptions of his needs; new family structure, great professional mobility and an enormous need to break down the boundary between indoor and outdoor areas, which fills the home with natural light with large function rooms, where study/work is clearly demarcated from living and resting areas and the bedroom zone is made into a isolated, intimate part of the house. The two zones were carefully placed in the lower part of the plot towards the water in both cases.
