Are you envisioning a home with distinctive and creative architecture that is not only visually appealing but also practical and functional? Architect Katrina Urbanik specializes in designing houses that are unique, innovative, and push boundaries. By working closely and personally with her clients, she ensures that they achieve the home of their dreams.

Since its inception , Katrina Urbanik has already managed to establish itself as a sought-after supplier of design houses with unique designs and functional solutions, based on environmentally friendly materials that require little maintenance. The architectural firm offers avant-garde architecture and the development of classic and modern homes, based on quality and high standard equipment.

After completing architectural studies at a prestigious university in England, Katrina Urbanik from Norway decided to start her own company. "I knew right from the start that I was not suited to work for others, so I started my own company instead. I wanted to develop my own ideas and design houses that are a little different," she says with a smile. The company, which houses several architects and engineers, can already point to a long track record of large and exciting projects. Although the main focus is on villas and larger detached houses, they are now planning a hotel, office building, new shopping center, and apartment complex at Jessheim. There is a lot to think about when building a house, and many may have experienced that the amount of applications and bureaucracy you have to go through is almost overwhelming. In addition, it is not always possible to find a contractor who is willing to set up the house as the architect has designed it.

Through a close collaboration with her husband, Tom Urbanik, who is an engineer, we can offer the entire process from A to Z, from concept, through municipal applications to turnkey houses.

The houses Katrina designs tend to have a modern style and are characterized by clean, simple shapes and right angles. She prefers to deliver brick houses. Not only are brick houses stronger and more stable, but they also have better acoustics, are less flammable, and provide better insulation. Both Katrina and her husband have a background from Poland, where brick houses have long been more common than in this country. "The technology in brick houses is stronger and provides better quality, while at the same time the brick technology provides room for architectural solutions and details that are impossible in a wooden house.

Among other things, we have customers in Snarøya, Nesøya, Ålesund, Askim, Kristiansund, Kolbotn, Drammen, and Jessheim where there are a lot of mountains, and where walls mean that you can really exploit the site's potential.

Brick houses are also both more ecological and economical than wooden houses, something more and more people are concerned about. In addition, the new Planning and Building Act was introduced this summer, which sets greater requirements for new houses to be energy-saving.

And with the unique system "Zero Energy House Technology," Urbanik can deliver energy-saving houses at a price that most other suppliers can't come close to. With "Zero Energy House Technology," the water-borne heating in floors, walls, balconies, and roofs ensures that very little energy consumption is needed to heat the house and external floor areas. The passive system obtains the heat from the earth under the house and partly from the sun, while measures such as thick external walls, super-insulated windows, and the correct positioning of the house in relation to the sun on the plot ensure full utilization of the energy.

The water-borne heat in both the roof and walls means that the house maintains a stable temperature all year round, and since electricity is only used for heating above 40 degrees, this means that you can save 70-80% on heating costs per year.

Katrina says that she is keen to think about the customer's taste and various needs already in the design phase, and together with her husband, they also offer integrated furnishing solutions so that you can get furniture and interiors that are in style with the house itself. "If you want built-in furniture or that details from the kitchen decor are to be used again on shelves or sideboards in the living room, it is important to think about it already in the initial phase. Most people want a house with a shared common area and separate zones for parents and children. Many people are also interested in good and large outdoor areas and would like to have different types of outdoor spaces. At Katrina Urbanik Architecture & Design, you can get a beautiful and unique house with good and functional solutions. And since you don't have to worry about applications and building processes, you can concentrate on what you want your new home to contain!
